Department Overview

The Post graduate department of commerce is the largest department in the college.Throgh consistent efforts and upgradations,the department has carved its niche in the accademeic circle. The Department of Commerce has gone from strength to strength and acquired quite a reputation in academics and extra-curricular activities. The college provides a dynamic learning environment to its students to pursue excellence, gain knowledge and acquire skills to achieve their goals. The department has dedicated teaching faculty, a blend of young enthusiastic teachers and senior experienced ones. They have been actively involved in the development of new curriculum, The Department aims at maintaining academic excellence and equipping students with the skills necessary to face the challenges of the business world. The undergraduate programme offers an innovative syllabus which caters to the varying needs of students. The Foundation Courses in Commerce place special emphasis on addressing real life business while the Professional and Skill Development Courses expose students to case studies and specific problems drawn from the Industry which serves as the backdrop for problem discussion and problem solving. The Postgraduate Degree Programme in Commerce was started in the year 2016. Seminars, Workshops and Guest lectures are an important part of the learning process, while Internship programmes help students to obtain first hand information about the way in which a business concern functions.
