Department Overview

The College sport teams participated in the various tournaments under the auspices of the Calicut University and Invitation Tournaments organised by other Colleges.The Department is also proud to have organised various tournaments which not only improves the sporting talent of the students but also help the students to improve upon their organizational and leadership qualities. Every year the Department admits students under sports quota in accordance with the sports merit norms laid down by the Calicut University. In Arts Degree courses, 3 students are admitted and in Science Degree courses, 1 student is admitted under the sports quota. Above these, 1 seat in Arts and 1 in Science are given to the candidates recommended by the Calicut Sports Council. The Department organised coaching camps in the campus and sent the players to participate in the coaching camps conducted by Calicut University and Calicut Sports Council. We provide modern play materials and uniforms to the players selected to represent the College teams. Approximately 25 teams, both in men & women, participate in the tournaments organised by the Calicut University. .
